The NC Providers Council has a great reputation for its analysis of legislation, rules and policies impacting community services funded through the North Carolina General Assembly and North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS). With our active involvement at the General Assembly, the divisions of DHHS, with LME/MCO leadership, through advocacy and strategic affiliations and state level committees/workgroups, we position ourselves to influence and advocate for providers and the people we support. The active involvement of our members on NC Providers Council internal committees and workgroups gives us great ability to analyze proposed legislation, system policy, rules, service policy and service cost; and gives the NC Providers Council the collective knowledge/content expertise to promote needed changes.
In 2011 we made an change as part of our strategic plan to increase our level of influence in the legislative and the executive branches of state government and began our relationship with The Policy Group http://www.policygroup.net/. The Policy Group is one of the most effective governmental relations firms in North Carolina specializing in legislative strategies and policy initiatives, substantially increasing our influence on legislative and executive branch issues impacting providers and the people we support.
